our doctor adviced my wife to take folic acid supplements for the first trimester of her pregnancy. Now she is on her 5th month but she is still taking folic acid up to now(not as frequent as compared to the first trimester). shes taking it maybe 4-5 times a week.

you are supposed to take it all the way through and some people keep taking it for a short while after they have giving birth

She should take folic acid all through her pregnancy twice per day(morning-night) cause it’s very essential for the baby.It helps brain development. She should take it also if she decides to breastfeed.
    Take care
